Perry Parker, who was running for Public Service Commissioner, will no longer be on the ballot for the position in 2019. Parker’s Republican challenger, Dane Maxwell, filled a complaint with the MSGOP over the issue of his residency in the State of Mississippi. After much debate and discussion, the committee found that Parker was not eligible for the position. Maxwell cited the concern that if nominated by the party that Democrats would challenge Parker in court and cause a crisis for Republicans. However, Parker has traveled for work and this has led him to register to vote in many places and he will have to opportunity to challenge this decision in Chancery Court. Stay tuned for more information on this issue and more from MageeNews.com.
