The victim has been identified as David Floyd Lee of 102 North Congress Drive in Mendenhall, MS.
According to Mendenhall Police Chief Candy McCullum, at approximately 10:15 AM, Friday, December 20, 2019, a white male was walking down the rail road track as a train approached. The engineer was already in the process of blowing the whistle but upon seeing the man attempted to stop to no avail. The incident occurred near Dixie Street in Mendenhall.
The man is a white male between the ages of 30 & 40 with dark hair. At this time, his identify is unknown.
AMR was called to the scene and transported the victim to Simpson General where he later died.
Canadian National is continuing the investigation along with the Mendenhall police department.
