I “made a deal” that when MageeNews.com reached 5,500 FB likes I would make a donation to an organization. After much thought, I have decided to make a donation to the Mississippi Scholars of Simpson County.

The Mississippi Scholars/Tech Master program exists to encourage high school students to complete a defined, rigorous academic course of study that prepares them for successful transition to college or university coursework or vocational and technical training necessary to enter today’s competitive job market.

Mississippi Scholars is a great program that is an investment in the future of Simpson County students…and ultimately Simpson County.

Each year at graduation time, every effort to award at least one scholarship to a student in each of the participating schools in the county: Magee High School; Mendenhall High School; Simpson County Technical Center; Simpson Academy; and New Life Christian School.

Mississippi Scholars is funded solely by contributions. All contributions are tax deductible.

Contributions should be mailed to Mississippi Scholars-Simpson County; Attention: Richard Rankin; P. O. Box 127; Mendenhall, MS 39114. Any amount will be helpful…hope you will join MageeNews.com as we promote our Simpson County Mississippi Scholars.

The “deal” is still on…when we reach 6,000 likes on Face Book…I’ll make another contribution to “something.”
