If weather permits, partial paving of 14 streets in our city will begin February 7, 2022. The first streets for paving are located in Ward 4. The temperature must be 40 degrees and rising for paving. $300,00 was budgeted for the project allowing each Alderman $60,000 for their Ward.
Base repairs, overlay or curb milling and overlay on approximately 1.55 miles of existing asphalt pavement on the streets will be performed.
Walters Construction Company, Inc of Laurel was awarded the 2022 Street Improvement project. Walters bid was $272,680.
Hopefully, the paving will take approximately two weeks.
