Paula Louise Padgett Meadows, 64, of Magee, MS left this earth to be in the presence of her Savior, May 18th, 2017 at her home in Magee, surrounded by her family. She was born Friday, January 2, 1953 in Laurel, MS.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee. Bro. Buddy Keys will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements, (601) 849-5031.
Paula was a graduate of University of Southern Mississippi, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Her love and passion was working with special needs children. Paula’s career span included working as a special needs teacher at Boswell Retardation Center on the Deaf/Blind Unit, as well as teaching children with special needs at Millcreek of Magee Treatment Center. She also spent many years as a special education teacher with the Magee Public School System. Upon retirement, she devoted herself to being the BEST “Ma Maw” ever to her two precious grandsons, Kannon and Kade Meadows.
Paula will be forever remembered with love by her son, Michael Paul Meadows (Jennifer), Mize; Parents, Paul Padgett Sr. and Louise Padgett, Magee; Sisters, Pam Padgett, Magee, and Patty Poston (David), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Brother, Paul Padgett Jr. (Beverly), Hattiesburg; Grandchildren, Kannon Meadows, Mize, and Kade Meadows, Mize; Nephews, Evan Handley (Brittney), Seth Handley, Corey Onder, Jared Padgett, and Jacob Padgett.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Hynum, Treven Sparks, Bo Russum, Bryan Powell, Arrmon Abedikichi, and Carlos Garcia. Honorary: Alex Hynum.
