The House passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36). This bill protects the lives of unborn children by prohibiting abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, the point at which it has been shown that unborn children can feel pain. Also known as Micah’s Law, it is named in honor of Micah Pickering, who was born at 20 weeks and is now a thriving kindergartner.
Every vulnerable child is a gift from God, and this bill will protect the next generation from experiencing the unbearable pain of abortion. This shouldn’t be a divisive, partisan issue. Protecting these pain-capable unborn children is our duty as human beings. If we don’t stand up for the life of the unborn, who will?
Thank you for letting me serve you in Congress.
