Arrangements for Jean Ford, mother of Jimmy Clyde, are visitation Saturday at Tutor’s Funeral Home from 12-2 and grave side at Lakewood in Clinton at 3:30.

Last night after I wrote the info on Mamaw Jean so many more thoughts came into my mind.

46 Years Ago, Mount St. Helens Touched Magee

May 19, 2026

Mamaw moved to Magee ten years ago.  Jimmy’s dad died 28 years ago.  She remarried a very nice man, Jim Ford.  After his death, she stay in Jackson but soon realized she needed to be closer to her only son and his family.  Everything mamaw did she did with grace.  She was an only child…Jimmy was an only child.  One of her greatest treasures was the large family that came along with Debbie and Jimmy’s union!  She now had 4 granddaughters…grandsons in laws…great grandchildren…and the entire McPhail bunch!  Debbie’s father married Diane’s mother, Mrs. Ellen…thus the two families were joined.

(These pictures were made at her birthday party December 31, 2017)

When I entered her room Thursday afternoon, I was overcome with the love filling that room.  I told Jimmy I hoped my love ones would be with me when I passed.  She might have been an only child…but she left this life with a room overflowing with love.

Really, there is wisdom in age!  I was blessed to hear some of her wisdom.  I was blessed to watch her maneuver through the ending years of her life.  She taught me well to go forth…make the best of any situation…and smile.

I will miss you Mamaw Jean.

Well written, for sure. Breaks my heart, but she is smiling now. Such a role model. Loved by all.
