The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Philippians 3:20: “But our citizenship is in Heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” The apostle speaks to the early Christians, reminding them that our earthly stay is temporary. We are strangers in a foreign land and are citizens of Heaven, not of earth. We eagerly await the second coming of Jesus to claim us and take us home to be with Him forever. What a great comfort! Let us always keep that first and foremost in our minds and hearts. “What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face, the One, Who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand and leads me through that Promised Land, what a day, glorious day, that will be.” How beautifully that gospel song expresses it for all Christians. Lord, hasten the day!
Happy Thursday!
