As most of you know by now, our site “crashed” Thursday in the middle of the Nowell hearings (which we had worked and worked to have just right). Our microphones messed up…which I really think was my fault…by Thursday night, I was a complete wreck…Friday, I got myself under control…Charlie was working on everything and she is the best…We had so many visitors to our site, we “fried” the server —the server for anyone who was linked to our server. (If you are like me, lots of this doesn’t make sense…but I sure am learning…now if I can just remember!) Saturday sent me back into the breakdown mode which in turn gave me a “wake me up in the night” “blow my head open” headache…could not move…head flat…I am not a person who has headaches (thank goodness) but I assume the stress of last week just took its toll.

MageeNews was up a running late Saturday afternoon. We learned quite a few interesting things…our site was targeted and purposely sabotaged…but because of the IP address for computers, we will be able to “run the lines” back to the culprit. Remember when the computers were hacked at the movie studios in Hollywood and it took weeks for the proof that the hackers were from Korea …well, I think the info of the IP address will be a few weeks in getting…but we will know.
Do you file charges…do you sue??? All I want to do is report news to our area…I am not one who has the time or energy to take on a fight…but I’ve got boys that will….just saying…this “hacking” might have an interesting ending.

I hope you have listened to the video I did concerning the time when the site was down. The video will be archived in the section of the website called VIDEOS

Ok, I have to brag…really…not just brag because I am still in shock. We knew last year our goggle analytical were great…but we had no idea that once we moved to a cloud based larger server the information that would be made available to us. Google does not count every search engine (computer) that logs onto a site.

Get ready…don’t faint…because I almost did when the numbers were obtained last week. In 7 days, we had 1,274,936 hits!!! Over a million people looked at MageeNews.com in one week! In that same week, we had 8,989 NEW visitors. (Just saying think about how you spend your advertising dollars—we are quite a bang for the buck!) In one month, we had 5,722,256 people view the site! I’m just saying, I can’t even think about the numbers or I would stop doing this…in my mind… I’m just talking to “you”…not millions of people.

Back to advertising…if interested, contact Sue@mageenews.com or call 601-849-3159. We will be glad to “come to you” or you can make an appointment and come to my office.

Here we go again….live streaming Monday night’s Simpson County School Board meeting at 6 PM…maybe we will get everything right this time!

One more thing and I will be quite, I can’t attend every event…I do not have the manpower to send someone to every event…but I want YOUR event on MageeNews.com. Please send pictures of ballgames, awards, birthdays etc…I want these five million people to see your child!
