The Community House was packed—standing room only—as friends and supporters gathered for the swearing-in of our local officials. What a testament to the love our citizens have for Magee!

Our city is ready for a fresh start. We’ve worked hard to clean up our community, but progress has been slow. Mayor Mark Grubbs has accepted the challenge and is already taking steps in the right direction.

Today, as I left my house, I saw something I haven’t seen in a long time—a city worker weed-eating a ditch! The railing near the Community House—right by that tricky step—has also been repaired. (That little area needs a name!) The step was unsafe, with a missing rail and a hole at the bottom, but now it’s been fixed—just in time for July 3rd.

Sure, these might seem like small things, but small things add up. I’m not saying everything will be fixed overnight—but it’s encouraging to see the work begin.

If you have concerns, call City Hall or send a text or picture. You can always reach me at 601-310-6881. I’ll be glad to pass along your concern.
