Thursday night, December 8th, Simpson County School Board meeting proved to be quite an eye opener.  A discussion was being held concerning the need for an additional “back flow” on the sprinkler system of the new Magee Elementary School.  The question was if the additional back flow brings us to code or is it just something that would be “a nice addition.  At this point, Dale Shots said the $595,00 paid for the storm shelter was a waste of taxpayer’s money.  A gentleman in the audience made a comment per the board’s request.

Dale shots replied “Don’t Shop in Magee.”

Firehouse Subs Coming to Magee!

Now people, I have a problem with Mr. Shots statement.  Talk about a division…and being for one school over the other…Shots put it out there with his comment.  There is no question where Shots stands on Magee school system improvements.

All of this was “caught on camera.”  The board meeting has several interesting items that were covered.

To view the “Don’t Shop in Magee” statement, begin watching the video at around 1 hour and 45 minutes.  (The exact spot is 1 hour and 50 minutes and 50 seconds) Understanding what Mr. Shots says is not easily heard on the tape, but MageeNews.com reporter Patrice Boykin was at the meeting live streaming the event…she heard “with her own ears” his statement.

How sad that a board member…elected to serve out county…not just one school…would call out a city.  Our schools couldn’t operate without Magee’s tax dollars.

My heart is saddened.
