LOCAL STUDENTS HONORED AT MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE

Mississippi College recently held its annual Honors Convocation to recognize students’ academic achievements and service to the university as well as the community. Hosted by First Baptist Church Clinton, students, parents, and faculty were in attendance to honor the selected students during the university’s chapel program.

Among the honors were the Perry Academic Awards. These awards were established by Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Perry for the purpose of recognizing scholastic achievement at Mississippi College. The awards, in the form of gold medallions, are awarded to seven seniors annually. Recipients have maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA. Academic excellence receives 75% consideration and 25% for qualities of leadership, citizenship, creative ability, activities, and moral character.
