The decision from the Simpson County School Board was not announced concerning the dismal of  Coach Jim Nowell hearing.

Board member Dale Shots made the statement that one piece of the trial material was just received yesterday (May 13th). I still am at a loss on this 30 day deal…I thought the board had to make a decision in 30 days…I am now wondering if it is 30 days when the last of the transcript is received??? This is still weird to me!

The new Magee Elementary Principal was announced: Dr. Lawrence who comes to us from Winona, MS. Dr. Lawrence “grew up” in Terry but his last job was in Winona. (I will post a picture when I get all my equipment downloaded!)

Fire walls kept the meeting from being live streamed Thursday night, which actually were our fault because we failed to communicate with the county office that we are streaming off a different server.  The county IT guy will meet with MageeNews.com to assist in correcting the situation of changing servers caused.  Simpson County Schools have an awesome IT guy, Elton Travis.  He has assisted MageeNews.com anytime a problem arose.

Joanna Maddox reported that the property mentioned at the April board meeting (property below the track and across the bridge) is unacceptable for use to build an elementary school.  All but 3.5 of the 17 acres is in a flood zone or plain.

I will be posting additional information from the board meeting on Friday.

Mr. Harris read a written statement announcing the need for executive session.  The statement informed those present that the Board would go into executive session for “Discussion of personnel matters, specifically investigation of alleged mishandling of funds by employee, and alleged reasons for resignation of personnel, and student discipline.”  These three unrelated items were discussed independent of each other and in no way included the dismissal of any employee, specifically a teacher, for missing funds.  Also, two of these issues were announced as “alleged” issues.
