Nineteen Co-Lin student-athletes receive NJCAA recognition

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has honored 19 Copiah-Lincoln Community College student-athletes for their classroom excellence in 2014-2015. Co-Lin had more student-athletes honored than any other school in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC).
Three of those student-athletes have been awarded the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence. This honor is given to those who maintain a 4.0 GPA. Pinnacle Award winners are Steve Del Cid of Wesson (tennis), Cullen Greer of Wesson (football), and Brandon Nettles of Wesson (tennis).
The NJCAA recognizes student-athletes with a 3.80-3.99 GPA with the Award for Superior Academic Achievement. Superior student-athletes from Co-Lin are Caroleah Brister of Brookhaven (tennis), Gregory Causey of Petal (golf), Allie Dear of Florence (tennis), Matthew Evans of Brookhaven (baseball), Koy McFarland of Wesson (football), Jacob Ross of Brookhaven (golf), and Alex Smith of Wesson (baseball).
The NJCAA honors student-athletes with a 3.60-3.79 GPA with the Exemplary Academic Achievement Award. Exemplary student-athletes from Co-Lin are Kristen Byrd of Monticello (softball), Kamry Creel of McComb (softball), Jacob Fleming of Summit (football), Trent Furr of Ackerman (football), Nicholas Luckey of Magee (football), Carly Riley of Monticell (tennis), Zachary Smith of Brookhaven (football), Adrienne Wallace of Bogue Chitto (softball), and Wesley Watts of Brandon (baseball).
