New Career-Tech scholarship opportunity available for Co-Lin students

WESSON –A new scholarship opportunity is now available to Copiah-Lincoln Community College Career-Technical students at any of the college’s three campuses.

The Mississippi Works Career-Tech Scholarship program provides tuition assistance to community college students who are enrolled in approved Career and Technical Education Certificate and Associate in Applied Science degree programs identified through sector analysis to meet the workforce demands of the state.

“This new scholarship opportunity will provide Career-Tech students with additional financial support for tuition costs,” said Brent Duguid, Dean of Career, Technical and Workforce Education. “This will not only benefit our students but also strengthen our local workforce with more skilled workers.”

To be eligible for the Mississippi Works Career-Tech Scholars program, students must: be a legal resident of Mississippi, admitted to an approved Mississippi Works Career-Tech Scholars Program, apply for and accept all offers for all available federal and state financial aid, and be a full-time student according to community college policy.

Approved Career-Tech programs at Co-Lin include EMT/Paramedic, Health-care Data Technology, Medical Radiologic Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Practical Nursing, Respiratory Care Technology, Automation and Control Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Precision Machining Technology, Welding, Automotive, Diesel Equipment, Commercial Truck Driving, and Construction Equipment Technology.
