The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Romans 12:11: “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” The early Christian writers (Christ’s apostles) served as a kind of cheering squad for new converts, as well as for those who’d long been believers and followers of Christ and His ministry. Those apostles learned firsthand from the teachings of Jesus. They knew the importance of remaining firmly rooted in the faith, in honoring Christ’s precepts. They encouraged all believers not to falter, not to lose their zeal in leading others to Christ. We today have God’s Word to teach us, to cheer us on, as we march toward the high calling of God. Let us keep our zeal and not falter. Amen!
