It’s National Women’s Health Week, and MSDH is encouraging women of all ages to make health a priority — for a week, and for life. It’s a time to examine your health and lifestyle, dedicate yourself to making a healthy change, and take steps toward a lifetime of health. Here are ways to get started and stay well:
• Visit a doctor or nurse for a well-woman checkup and preventive screenings.
• Get active.
• Eat healthly.
• Care for your mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing stress.
• Avoid unhealthy behaviors, such as smoking, texting while driving, and not wearing a seatbelt or bicycle helmet.
