The Scriptural passage for today is found in John 10:27: “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow me.” Jesus is speaking to a group of His followers, telling them that He is the shepherd, and they (his faithful disciples) are His sheep. Just as sheep know the sound of their shepherd’s voice, so do we know our Master’s when He speaks to us. We’re to listen intently, careful never to miss a word. Unlike sheep that can’t actually speak, we who are followers of Jesus can speak to Him as often as we’d like through prayer and the study of His Word. Let us always keep the line of communication cleared and in proper working order.
Today, let’s be sure to share with others love, joy, and kindness. Jesus expects us to do so freely and without reservation. Smile and speak words of comfort and encouragement whenever given the opportunity.
