Muriel Anita Montz, age 72, passed away on September 6, 2022. She was born in New Orleans, LA, on September 16, 1949, to Sidney and Sarah Applebaum Montz.
Muriel faced significant health issues from infancy until her death, but refused to surrender to any of them. Her zest for life was unmatched and as each obstacle presented itself, she dealt with it and continued to live her life……accepting the hand that had been dealt to her.
Her pleasures were simple. She loved word search puzzles and did them constantly. She loved the Saints, her LSU Tigers and crafts of any sort. She enjoyed expressing herself by decorating bird houses and Christmas decorations and painting them in beautiful colors.
But the thing that sustained her the most were her close lifelong friends, one who cared for her every need when she resided in Walker, LA. and a second friend that she conversed with every single night on the telephone.
Her battles are over. She won them all and now has been reunited with all members of our family that have gone before. She is in a better place. We were all fortunate that our paths crossed.
She lived in Boutte, LA for several years until she moved to Magee, MS
She is survived by her brother, Roy (Julia) Montz.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. Sidney Montz, Milton Montz and one sister, Celeste Montz.
