WESSON- Copiah-Lincoln Community College sophomore Virginia Mullins of Mendenhall was recently chosen to participate in the 2017 Physical Properties of Material program, a Research Experience in the Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State University. While participating in the program, Mullins will assist with the development of injectable osteoclasts to reverse vascular calcification, a predecessor to heart disease. Program participants spend the summer at MSU, where they live in university housing and receive a weekly stipend as part of their research grant. At the conclusion of the program, Mullins will present her research work at the MSU Undergraduate Research Symposium.
She is the daughter of Janet and TJ Mullins of Mendenhall.
