Magee High School teacher Kristy Thurman initiated a Chapter of the Mu Alpha Theta mathematics society in her first year with the Trojan family. An induction ceremony took place January 30, 2020 with ten honors math students being inducted into the Chapter. Mu Alpha Theta is a high school and two year college honors math society that provides scholarship opportunities as well as an advancement in opportunities for the study of mathematics.
