MS HWY 49 & Saratoga Sharon Rd Accident
At approximately 2 PM on May 7th, Magee Fire Department was dispatched to a two car accident near the intersection of MS HWY 49 and Saratoga Sharon Rd. Once on scene, firefighters found a Dodge Challenger on its side in the median and a Scion XB on the inside shoulder of MS HWY 49 South. There were two occupants of the Dodge- a male and female who were able to free themselves from the vehicle, both of which had minor injuries but were checked out by AMR STAFF. One female patient had to be extricated from the Scion. Firefighters used the spreaders to force open the driver’s door. Once the door was opened, firefighters, under the supervision of AMR STAFF, placed the patient onto a backboard and helped load into the ambulance.
Magee Fire Department had 4 apparatus on scene and 13 personnel- Magee Police, Simpson County Sheriff’s Department and MDOT. Simpson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
