Mrs. Ruby Rankin of Magee died Friday night, November 10, 2017. Mrs. Ruby was an icon in her church and community. She and her late husband (W.T.) operated Rankin Wholesale in Magee for years! I do believe Mrs. Ruby was most famous for her chocolate pies! She was a fabulous cook, gracious hostess, and loving woman who gave of herself to her family and friends. Mrs. Ruby was always in church. She and Mr. W. T. could be counted on to be in their pew three times a week!
Mr. W. T. died a few years ago. Although Mrs. Ruby continued her gracious kindness, I believe the light in her earthly life was gone. She loved W.T. She also loved her sons, Joe David (Joe) and James Ronnie (Ronnie) (these guys will always be double names to me!). Her sons were very devoted to the care of their mother. These guys appreciated their mama and so did their wives, Judy and Sandra. Ruby was blessed with two grandsons, Jason and Steven Rankin…and with these grandsons came a wonderful extended family. Forever, if you saw Ruby, you saw her sister, Virginia Sanford. I know the death of Mrs. Ruby will be hard on Virginia.
I am so glad Mrs. Ruby was my forever friend. She was apart of my life from an early age. I literally knew the Rankin my entire life. I always admired Mrs. Ruby…her beauty…her smile…her faithfulness…her cooking ability…her decorating ability. I’m just saying, the lady could do anything with style.
My heart is saddened as I loose another life long friend who molded my life. Ladies like Mrs. Ruby are the soul and backbone of a church. They take time to love and teach others. The gifts these ladies give cannot be measured. When one makes a difference in a life, the reward is forever.
I will always miss you, Mrs. Ruby

I am sorry to hear that! My daughter and I rented her White House and she was sweet to us! Awesome lady!
