The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17: “May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, Who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in ever good deed and word.” The apostle offers a prayer for God’s blessings to be poured out over the members of the Church at Thessalonica as they pressed forward. He wishes them every success in their Christian efforts to spread God’s kingdom through their love and hard work. Jesus Christ and His Father have been given hope, encouragement, and strength needed to carry out the mission. As we know, all Scripture is provided for our edification then as now. Let us take note and move forward with renewed hope in our mission, knowing that God is taking notes and keeping an account. There is accountability for our actions and efforts. With that in mind, let us be ever-mindful and alert as we move forward on our earthly journey. Our Father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are with us each step of the way. Amen!
