Haven’t you always wondered about what the “old” men at the Co-Op talk about?  Sometimes, I’m not sure I want to know!

A friend shared this great picture and seeing these guys made me wonder even more…and knowing them…sure made me wonder.

Political discussions are usually the top of the list during this time of the year.  But, I’ve decided most of what they talk about is “old” stuff.  I mean, really, they discuss who died 50 years ago…and who married who…and who is about to die!

Really, I think these coffee groups are great!  Men say we gossip…girls, we don’t hold a candle to these guys.

Mike McAlpin is the historian and patriarch.  He is 86 years old and drives himself 6 days a week to the gathering.  Lee Worrell’s nick name is “County Agent” because he think he knows everything (according to my sources!).  Billy Blair and W. C. Allen are the military advisors both having served our nation well.  James Howard Womack is the monetary and land advisor.  William Estus Mangum, Jr. esquire, Mayor of Goshen, is the municipal advisor.  Charles R. Akers is the overall BS advisor!  I-Man, Ira Wells, is the Smith County daily coordinator.  Rod Yelverton is the stabilizing force of the group.  As you can tell, prayers are needed.

There’s nothing like living in a small town.  Forever friends….
