December 28th has rolled in with power and force! A night of heavy rain…tornado treats…power outages in Hinds, Rankin, and Madison County…damage to a chicken farm in Covington county….people running off the roads due to water flow…I’m just saying…a rough Monday in many ways.

Here we are another day looking at the death of a young person. Sherri Runnels Guest, age 42, died suddenly Sunday afternoon. Following minor foot surgery last week, apparently, Sherri suffered a fatal blood clot. Sherri was with at her home with her mother and two children. Anthony Guest, Sherri’s husband, had just gone back to work off shore on Thursday.

Death is difficult anytime….but this type shock will be hard for everyone to deal. Please keep this precious family in your prayers. I will post additional information as it becomes available.

Highway 49 is closed near Seminary due to a downed tree.

Interstate 20 is back open near Pelahatchie following a downed tree.

Proceed with caution today…the roads are in rough shape…so much rain…the cool weather is coming!

I just love seeing everyone’s Christmas pictures! Please share with Sue@mageeneews.com
