JACKSON, MS – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) wants to inform the public of information regarding the new Wild Turkey Stamp. Beginning January 15, 2026, hunters in Mississippi will be able to purchase the new Mississippi Wild Turkey Stamp for the 2026 Spring Turkey Season. Any person 16 years or older, unless exempt, must purchase the Wild Turkey Stamp before hunting wild turkeys in Mississippi. This applies to both resident and non-resident hunters hunting on private and public lands.
The Wild Turkey Stamp will serve as a specialized permit, with proceeds dedicated to restoring and protecting wild turkey populations, funding scientific research, and increasing access to public hunting opportunities.
The Wild Turkey Stamp will cost $10 per stamp for Residents and $100 per stamp for nonresidents. Each stamp is valid through the final day of the spring wild turkey season following its purchase. A new stamp must be obtained for future seasons.
Along with the purchase of the Wild Turkey Stamp, hunters will be issued three unique harvest identifiers that will be used within the Game Check system at the time of harvesting your bird. Your three digital Game Checks will be automatically issued once your stamp is purchased. Exempt hunters will be required to acquire the Exempt Turkey Game Check privilege (for no cost) to receive your three digital Game Checks.  In most circumstances these are available immediately, however, customers should be advised to prepare well in advance before going hunting, as there can sometimes be a delay between purchase and availability.
Where to purchase:
  • MDWFP HuntFish App
  • MDWFP license portal
  • Any license vendor location
  • By calling 1-800-5GO-HUNT

The mission of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is to conserve and enhance Mississippi’s wildlife, fisheries, and parks; provide quality outdoor recreation, and engage the public in natural resource conservation.
