Mississippi Small Business Development Center has new business counselor
WESSON, Mississippi – The Mississippi Small Business Development Center (MS-SBDC) is excited to announce that Heather Emory is the new business counselor serving southwest Mississippi. A native of Franklin County, Emory no stranger to the area. She comes to the MS-SBDC after serving 20 years in higher education.
Emory joined the MS-SBDC in May 2020 as a contract counselor working with business owners dealing with COVID concerns. After extensive training, she joined the team as a full-time business counselor in October. Emory brings to her position first-hand knowledge of the southwest Mississippi area, a keen understanding of the economic needs in the region and relationship building skills necessary to develop strong connections with local stakeholders, business owners and entrepreneurs.
“I am very proud to serve this area as the MS-SBDC Business Counselor,” said Emory. “It has been a long-time dream to see this area grow and thrive. I am excited to be a part of that process.”
