JACKSON, MS — Chairman Joe Nosef of the Mississippi Republican Party (MSGOP) is pleased to announce that Marcy Thoms Scoggins has been named Executive Director. With more than a 20-year career in politics, Scoggins is sure to provide the Party with exceptional guidance and success.

“Marcy’s experience and proven leadership make her a great hire for the Party,” said Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant. “I look forward to working with her as we seek to build on the Party’s historic momentum and continue electing conservative leaders up and down the ballot for years to come.”

“An effective Executive Director with good judgement is crucial to the day-to-day operations of the Mississippi Republican Party,” said MSGOP Chairman Joe Nosef. “Marcy is uniquely qualified to lead in this capacity, and her addition to our already strong core staff gives me significant optimism about the future of our Party.”

Scoggins has worked for many notable Mississippi elected officials throughout her career: Senator Trent Lott, Congressman Chip Pickering, Congressman Gregg Harper and most recently State Treasurer Lynn Fitch.

“Marcy served the people of Mississippi well as a member of my staff for almost three years,” said Treasurer Lynn Fitch. “I wish her the best of luck in her new role.”

Scoggins and her husband Kirk live in Madison and have two children, Kathryn, a student at Madison Central High School and Will, a student at Rosa Scott High School. Scoggins is active in the Parent Teacher Organizations at her children’s schools. She is also a member of the board at Magnolia Speech School and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Jackson. She and her family attend Madison Methodist Church.
