Mississippi Egg Marketing Board Announces 2022 Easter Coloring Contest Winners
from Forrest, Rankin and Lee Counties

JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Egg Marketing Board announced the winners of its annual Easter Coloring Contest on Saturday, April 16, during the Easter festivities at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum.

Entries were accepted for one month prior to Easter with the contest open to all Mississippi school children ages 4 to 9 years old. Nearly 75 Mississippi school children from around the state participated in the contest. The winner of each age division received a $50.00 gift.

The winning submissions of the annual Easter Coloring Contest hosted by the Mississippi Egg Marketing Board included participants from Forrest, Rankin and Lee Counties. Pictured left to right: submission by 5-year-old Jonah McArthur, winner of the 4-5 years old age division; submission by 7-year-old Karlee Hardges, winner of the 6-7 years old division; and submission by 8-year-old Quinn Minor, winner of the 8-9 years old division.

The winner of the 4-5 years old age division was Jonah McArthur, the 5-year-old son of Chris and Rebecca McArthur of Hattiesburg. Jonah is a Kindergarten student at Classical Conversations Homeschool program. The winner of the 6-7 years old division was Karlee Hardges, the 7-year-old daughter of Quinitillion Hardges. Karlee is a first-grade student at Exquisite Gems Learning Academy in Shannon. In the 8-9 years old division, the winner was Quinn Minor. Quinn, a student at Steens Creek Elementary in Florence, is the 8-year-old daughter of Dominique Smalley.

Artwork submitted as part of the contest will be on display at the Mississippi Farmers Market, located at 929 High Street, Jackson, Mississippi during the month of May, in recognition of National Egg Month.
