The Mississippi College football team will welcome the #1 team in the country to Robinson-Hale Stadium as the University of West Georgia comes in for a Halloween contest at 3:00 p.m.
This will be the 14th all-time meeting between Mississippi College and West Georgia, with the Choctaws holding an 8-5 edge in the series. MC is also 5-1 against UWG in the six meetings in Clinton.
The Choctaws are coming off a 31-14 loss to Florida Tech last Saturday, as freshman quarterback Walker Meadows earned his first start under center. The Beauregard, Ala. native passed for 194 yards, the most in a single game since Coach Bland took over last season.
Junior wide receiver Marcel Newson caught seven passes for 145 yards and a touchdown, giving him 25 catches for 407 yards and six scores this season. The half a dozen TD receptions is the most in a season for a Choctaw since DeMarrion Buford-Hughes hauled in eight in 2011.
Freshman Mike Hall leads the MC defense with 36 tackles, including a team-high 22 solo stops. Junior Reggie Bennett has 33 tackles, followed by Carl Rainey Jr. with 30 stops. JaQarius Scott and Lazarus Shelby are tied for the team lead with 3.5 tackles for loss.
The Wolves jumped to the #1 ranking in the AFCA and D2Football.com polls for the first time in school history this week. They are coming off a 31-10 win at home against nationally-ranked North Alabama last Saturday.
UWG has scored at least 27 points in all eight games this season, putting up 50 or more points twice. They have held opponents to fewer than 14 points or fewer in five games.

Dallas Dickey leads the offense, passing for 13 touchdowns and just three interceptions, completing 65% of his passes. Marion Chapman leads the team with 41 tackles, while Alex Armah has a team-high 11 tackles for loss and seven sacks.
