Mississippi published children’s book empowers readers to stop bullying. In today’s world, bullying is at an all- time high amongst children. Tina Lakey, long time Mississippi resident, wrote and published a book on bullying titled I’m Just Kidding. In Lakey’s book, she gives examples of how words can hurt in storybook format. Tina said, “Last year a friend was telling me about her 9-year-old little girl being picked on at school about her father dying on her birthday. That precious child, who suffered such a huge loss, is now being bullied at school. That is when I knew it was time to publish this book. Those kids were making her feel less than who she is. A sweet precious loving caring innocent child. It broke my heart our children would hurt each other in such a way. Our precious children are taking drastic measures because of others words.” Tina plans on attending events and reading her book to children in our state. Parents struggling on dealing with this at home can use this relatable and impactful resource. Her book is currently online for purchase at Amazon and Barnes & Nobles. You may also purchase a book by contacting her at the information above. Pam Ware of Madison said ” This children’s book is beautifully written and illustrated, while teaching us all about the world-wide problem of bullying all children face today! Tina Lakey has a true passion for teaching children to treat others like they would want to be treated.”
