Intermittent ramp CLOSURES at I-59 and U.S. 49 in Forrest County start TODAY

June 10, 2026

The accident happened at the red light in Mt Olive which is the crossing for 49 and 35.  Traffic was not delayed for a long period of time.  The local Sheriff Department was on the scene as well as the Mississippi Highway Patrol.  Two or three 18 wheelers were involved in the accident.

Clean-up crews were on hand to handle the spill.

All traffic moving….just a reminder to be very careful…and aware of your soundings.
