Mildred Janet McCollum, 89 of Magee, MS went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2024 surrounded by her family at her residence in Magee, MS. She was born Sunday, July 29, 1934 in Simpson County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Magee, MS. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Brad Roberts and Rev. Stacy McCollum will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Charles E. McCollum; daughter, Denise McCollum; father, John Calvin Boone; mother, Katie Lavernia Runnels Hughes; great grandchildren, Declan Blackwell and Alaric McCollum.
She is survived by her sons, Michael McCollum, Keith McCollum and Stacy McCollum (Christy); daughters, Deborah McCollum, Suzanne McCollum Ainsworth (John), and Sandra McCollum Warrell; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary McCollum, Jonathan Blackwell, Charles Blackwell, Keith McCollum, Chris Gates, Aden Gates, and Andrew Ainsworth.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Faith Baptist Church, 332 Colonial Dr. NE Magee, MS 39111.
