Michael Guest refuses to debate Whit Hughes
In a letter sent to Michel Guest yesterday, Whit Hughes challenged his opponent to two debates and asked for him to accept or decline by 3:00pm today. The Guest campaign has stated that they refuse to debate Mr. Hughes.

There are serious policy issues that Whit and his opponent disagree on and voters deserve the opportunity to make an informed decision based on where these two runoff opponents stand on these issues. There are tens of thousands of voters that stayed home because they are sick of politics as usual. There are thousands of voters that voted for another candidate in the Primary Election and they deserve to hear from these candidates in one-on-one debate.

From Whit:
“He is refusing to debate me. We need to respect voters and have a debate in this runoff. The reality is, there are tens of thousands of voters that simply stayed home or voted for another candidate. It is wrong for us to not have a one-one-one debate as those voters are making their decision on who to support. Frankly, it is ridiculous to decline a one-on-one debate with your runoff opponent.”
“The next 19 days need to be about giving voters every opportunity to hear from Michael and me about the issues important to them. There are clear policy differences between my opponent and me. Voters want and deserve to hear from myself and my opponent in a debate setting. I would be shocked if he continues to refuse to debate me.”
