Davis, a 2008 Copiah-Lincoln graduate, is the son of current head football coach Glenn Davis. He will take on an offensive role with an emphasis on the quarterbacks.

Davis knows the position and the offensive scheme well playing for the Wolfpack from 2007-2008.

“Micah knows what we’ve been doing system wise as an offense…that is a big advantage,” said Glenn Davis. “He has been involved with four-year programs and that will definitely help us in the recruiting aspect, and on top of that, he’s a Co-Lin guy. The things he has learned will allow him to add to our offensive package and help us optimize schemes that are similar.”

After graduation, Micah Davis continued his career at Delta State University. While with the Statesmen he received numerous awards and accolades. He was in the top three Harlon Hill Trophy finalist (NCAA DII Player of the Year), the National Football Foundation National Scholar Athlete/Finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association Top Male Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Delta State was the 2010 NCAA Division II Runners-Up with Davis at quarterback.

A summa cum laude graduate of Delta State, Davis was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. He was inducted into the Delta State Hall of Fame. Davis earned his Master of Science in Sport Administration at Arkansas State University.

The former standout has over five years coaching experience at the Division I level that includes stints with Western Kentucky University, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and his most recent at the University of Kansas where he coached quarterbacks and running backs.

“I was in a great offensive system while at the University of Kansas,” said Micah Davis. “It has helped me further my knowledge of the offensive system as a whole and I’m excited to be back to help Co-Lin’s program in any way I can.”

Davis is married to the former Ashley McFarland. They are the parents of a daughter, Brooke, nine months.
