Mac Anderson of Magee High School was recognized by Magee’s Ms Hospitality, Christian King, during the Magee Chamber of Commerce Banquet as STAR Student from Magee High School.
Mac is the son of Jimmy and Stacey Anderson and he has a younger brother Jackson.
Mac scored a 33 on the ACT. Mac has attended Magee High School since kindergarten and is invested in Magee High School.
Mac was chosen as Most Intellectual, Most Likely to Succeed and Class Favorite.
Mac has received various awards at Magee in the Math, Science and English departments. Mac was selected as the Wendy’s Heisman from Magee High School. Mac received several football awards this past season.
Mac plans to attend MSU next year and was awarded the Shackouls Honor College. Mac’s plans are to major in Engineering.
Mac selected Dick Wendt as his STAR Teacher. Coach Wendt is a teacher that is loved by all students and a great role model. Coach Wendt is in his 24th year of teaching at Magee High School where he has mainly taught Chemistry, Physics and Physical Science. Coach Wendt coaches girls and boys soccer, track and cross country. For years Coach Wendt has been the advisor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Coach Wendt is originally from Iowa where he attended school and college in LeMars, Iowa. After graduation Coach Wendt taught in Colorado and Iowa. Coach Wendt has taught in Malawi, Africa for three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Coach Wendt earned his Master’s Degree at the University of Southern Mississippi, during his first year in Mississippi. This is the second time for Coach Wendt to be awarded STAR Teacher.
