Magee High School held their football and cheer banquet Monday, January 23, 2017 at Berry’s Seafood in Magee.
Nick Luckey was the guest speaker for the night. Nick graduated with Honors from Magee High School in 2013. While attending MHS he played football and baseball from 7th grade through his senior year. He received the following awards in football. 2012 Trojan Award, MVP – Offensive Lineman, Coaches Award, Selected as Offensive Lineman for the 2012 Bernard Blackwell All Star Football game, 2012 All District Offensive Lineman, 2nd Team All State Offensive Lineman.
In Baseball Nick was selected to the State Team for Division 7 which won the Gold Medal in the State Games of Summer 2012. Nick received the 2013 MVP – Offense Player
Nick was selected to the 2013 Hall of Fame, Outstanding Sr. Boy, Most Dependable, Most Cooperative and Most Athletic. He was active in Student Council and Beta Club throughout Jr High and High School.
After graduating from MHS, Nick attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College where he played for the Wolves two years. While playing at Co-Lin his sophomore season they played for the State Championship. Nick played in the JUCO All Star Game as an offensive lineman. Nick was selected as a Trailblazer and a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Nick graduated with his Associates Degree in December of 2014. Nick signed with Mississippi College and played two years for the Choctaws. Nick is a Dean’s List Scholar and he is currently serving as a Student Coach at MC this spring. Nick will graduate from MC in May 2017 with a degree in Kinesiology.
Nick’s future plans are to be a Graduate Assistant on the College level and work on his Masters Degree.
Monica Diamond and Wanda Glisson, cheer sponsors, presented their cheer team with awards.
All Cheerleaders were recognized. Senior girls were presented gifts. They are as follows: Dianna Holland, MaKayla Cook, Jenny Deal, LaDeyshea Lee.

Coach Tim Coats, Head Coach, recognized his staff and all of their hard work. Coats praised and spoke of each of his players. Coach Coats and Coach Maddox presented the following awards:

Coach Coats paid a special thanks to all who are involved and help. He also thanked the coaches wives for being supportive with the long hours during the season.
