The Magee Voluntary Fire Department set a goal of $5,000 to donate to Blair Batson Children’s Hospital. The department raised about $4,000 Saturday at the “Cooking for Kids” chicken dinner plates sale. The Magee Fire Department is taking their part of the cut from the Simpson County Firemen’s Challenge and adding to Saturday’s proceeds to make their donation of $5,000 a reality.

$5,000 may not be a lot of money to some…but for a city the size of Magee…this is awesome!

The firemen worked in the pouring down rain delivering plates to drive through customers!

Thanks to the many people who donated to the day’s activities and/or bought a chicken dinner plate.  A special thank you to the firemen’s wives and children who helped serve!

Our MFD is all about helping others!
