During the regular scheduled school board meeting, Thursday, August 11, 2016, the board voted to move forward with the building of a field house and band hall at Mendenhall High School. It was questioned if this could be done at both schools. The future plans include both schools receiving new building. Presently, Mendenhall is in the greatest need. Hopefully, if no budget cuts are made this fiscal year, and money is still available, Magee will get the same consideration next year or possibly 2018.
The board voted to move forward with the project and hired Landry & Lewis as the architect.
The money to fund these projects is coming from proceeds of the sixteen-section land.
