 Honors/Accolades
o 13th Most Improved Middle School in Mississippi for 2014 – 2015 according to SchoolDigger.com o 2016 Outstanding LDC/MDC Middle Grades and High School Award (awarded by the Southern

Regional Education Board out of 12-states with LDC/MDC initiatives)

 Professional Learning
o Educators holding Advanced Degrees (M.A/Ed.S) increased from 33% in 2014 to 59% during 2017 o 119 on-site instructional coaching days directly with educators
o 56.8 total hours of online Professional Development through PD360
o Countless in-house trainings and off-site whole-day conferences

o Gowan/Robinson/Willis – 2016 Making Connections Conference

 Technology Improvements:
o Upgrading three existing computer labs to Windows 10
o Adding two additional 30-seat computer labs with Windows 10
o Adding three 30-seat netbook carts on campus running Windows 10 (for Social Studies) o Adding one or two new computers in every core content teachers classroom
o Adding 17 ActivPanel LCD Touchscreen Promethean boards for core content classes
o Adding a 70” LCD Presentation Screen in the Cafeteria
o Upgrading 15 existing Interwrite Interactive boards with wall/ceiling mounted projectors o This year, we will provide all core content class teachers with new i5 laptops

 Facility Improvements:
o Replacing 13 window units with mini-splits
o Installing additional electrical outlets in the 5th grade building and main building o Installing egress windows in all student classrooms

 Academic Improvements

o Accountability Improvements:
 The school was officially a D-rated school 2010, 2011, and 2012
 2013 – C officially (Impact study of New Accountability model rated the school a D)  2014 – D
 2015 – C (ranked in top 1/3 middle schools in MS according to SchoolDigger)
 2016 – Pending; Projected release to public is in October

o Progress Monitoring Improvements – Students Scoring Above 50th Percentile
Note: Based on several data points, we have determined students at the 50th percentile and above are on track for High School Graduation.

2013 – 2014 Laurel Invitational Tournament Champions 2013 – 2014 District 4A Champions

Research shows students involved in extracurricular activities perform better in school, so time was allocated in schedule and employees were assigned various clubs based on their interest.
