Mendenhall Jr. High School (MJH) is pleased to announce the winners of its School Reading Fair, held on Oct. 12.

Together, MJH had 12 students to win first, second or third place in the individual or group divisions. These students will advance to the Simpson County School District Reading Fair on Nov. 15 to showcase their projects on a fictional or nonfictional book.

Winners of the MJH Reading Fair, who will be advancing to the district fair are

Division E – Individual Literary Fiction

·      First Place: Bayli Mays, 6th Grade

·      Second Place: Colton Evans, 6th Grade

·      Third Place: Alayna Arinder, 7th Grade

Division H – Individual Informational Nonfiction Text

·      First Place: Savannah Durr, 6th Grade

Division K – Group Literary Fiction

·      First Place: Mikayla Welch, Mylee Rushing, Amelia Sanders – 7th Grade

·      Second Place: Landon Murray and Makullan Jones – 6th Grade
