Mendenhall Elementary School Holds Annual Book Fair

Students at Mendenhall Elementary School had a great time shopping for new books during the school library’s annual Scholastic Book Fair.

Students were able to choose among hundreds of books on a variety of topics, themes and reading levels. A few of the favorite books bought during the fair included Dog Man, The Last Kids on Earth and Clifford the Big Red Dog.

“Our students have worked so hard trying to get back in the routine of a regular school day,” said Tracey Crawford, librarian. “Therefore, what better way to celebrate than to hold a book fair? Books are a much-needed investment for our students.”

In addition to regular payment options, students were also able to purchase books through their eWallet – a new feature provided by Scholastic that allows parents to upload money into an online shopping account for their student. This allows the child to know how much they get to spend, with no cash required.

Crawford mentioned that by the end of the week, students were asking when the next book fair would be held.

“The book fair was a definite success. Thank you parents for encouraging reading with your children,” said Crawford.
