Former Magee graduate and Trojan stand out Melvin Smith did not just end his carer with football after high school or college.  He has had his hands on a football all his life!  After coaching in college, Melvin decided to get involved with school football.  Melvin is the defensive coordinator  at SFA Middle School and the head B Team and 8th grade Coach AND Head Golf Coach!

His middle school team won the District Championship!  The team finished the season 8-1 as they navigated their way through the Pandemic!  The team averaged 31 points per game and allowed only an average of 5 points per game.

This 1976 Magee High School graduate is still making a difference in the life of football!

(Anyone who purchased a “Pride of Magee” book that I sold earlier in the year can check out Melvin in the 1973-75 section.)

Former Trojans Dale Berry and Chuck Akers Author: Delvan Irwin

Speaking of the “Pride of Magee” book, this is a great Christmas gift.  I do not have anymore.  You can go on Amazon (click here) to purchase a book.)  The cost of the  book is $25.

“The Pride of Magee” written by Delvan Irwin follows Magee football from 1928-2000.
