Tim Coats is the new Head Football Coach, Athletic Director, and Offensive Coordinator for the Trojans. Tim returns this 2015-2016 season as a third year veteran, but first year as head football coach for the Trojans. Tim graduated with A Bachelor’s from Mississippi College, and Masters from the University of West Alabama. While at Mississippi College, Tim was a member of the football team, where he played quarter back, and was a member of the baseball team as well. Before coming to Magee, Tim coached at East Central Community College, Meridian High School, Hattiesburg High School, Morton High School, Newton High School, and Perry Central High School. Tim hopes to bring stability, positive leadership, physical football, winning attitude on and off of the field, and teach fundamentals of football and life, along with mental toughness. Tim said some of their strengths this year will come from his senior’s leadership, and team speed. He has set high expectations and plans to achieve them. He wants his team to have a family atmosphere. Tim is married to Shelley Coats and they have a daughter, Carriane, who is a senior at Magee. He and his family are members of First Baptist Church, Magee.
