Countdown to graduation has begun.  Only a few short months until seniors will receive diplomas and move the tassel to become 2018 High School Graduates.

For our senior profile edition why not start with the top “Mr. MHS” and “Student Body President” Calder Reed.

Calder is the son of Lisa Reed and Steven Reed of Magee.

Calder was recently chosen Mr. Magee High School. Calder is a percussionist and Drum Captain for the Pride of Simpson County Band.

Calder has been an all A student during his high school tender and scored a 29 on his ACT. Reed is a dual enrollment student with Copiah Lincoln Community College. Reed has been awarded numerous area subject awards. Presently Reed serves as secretary for Beta and SADD Club and a member of the National Honor Society, FCA and Bible Club Leadership. Reed was chosen to attend State’s Lions Club Meet and Boys State. In 2017 Reed received Overall Citizenship Award and Trojan Band Award. Calder was chosen by his classmates as Most Dependable and Best School Spirit. Calder has been a member of the Trojan Tennis team for 3 years.

Calder has served his community by being selected to serve on the Mayor’s Youth Council for 2 years and a Future Leader of Simpson County.

In Calder’s spare time he enjoys fishing.

After graduation Calder plans to further his education at Louisiana State University.

Congratulations Calder on a successful high school career.
