MDOC to fairgoers: Stop by the MDOC Booth to find out about a new career

JACKSON – If you are looking for work and plan to attend the Mississippi State Fair, stop by the Mississippi Department of Corrections’ recruitment booth.

The MDOC is recruiting at the fair again this year. Last year, 165 people stopped by the MDOC table at the Mississippi Trade Mart to get information about job openings.

“While we have a variety of positions available, hiring correctional officers is critical,” Commissioner Pelicia E. Hall said. “Being at the fair fits right in with how we have been targeting places where a lot of people are.”

Commissioner Hall said the MDOC is a great place to start for those looking for a career in law enforcement. “And, if you are retired, but want to start working again, we have a place for you,” Commissioner Hall said.

In addition to MDOC’s dedicated recruiter Clintis McCray, security and non-security staff, and probation and parole agents also will be on hand to answer questions from the start of the fair today until it ends on Oct. 14. Except for the first day, they will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
