Mayor Dale Berry shared the following information at the May 7, 2019 Board of Alderman meeting:
According to David Posey, the new energy man, Magee is a city that is expected to grow; therefore, Magee will receive metal line poles for replacements as needed.
Reminder that Kyle Petty Charity Race will take place on Thursday, May 9th at the Love’s Travel Stop in Magee. Mayor Berry encouraged attendance at the event which begins at 11:45 AM.
The Farmer’s Market is scheduled to begin on May 25th. Applications are available at City Hall for anyone wanting to participate in the market.
The City has received plans for a Burger King and Dollar Tree. Burger King has paid for water services. No money has been received from Dollar Tree. Hopefully, work on Burger King will begin in mid June.
The week of May 6-10th has been designated as Hurricane Awareness Week. The Mayor signed a proclamation in support of recognizing Hurricane Awareness Week.
Berry reported the possibility of another business locating on Main Street Magee. (No information was given to what type of business or where they might locate)
Mayor Berry recognized three employees for their dedication and work for the City of Magee: Lee Roberts, Blake Sullivan, and Ray Brinson.
