During the Magee Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday, December 3, 2019 Mayor Berry reported the following report.

Mayor Berry reminded everyone the Magee Christmas parade is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2019 starting at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Berry advised all vehicles needed to be removed from mains street no later than 5:00 p.m. The parade is a Chamber event that the city helps with traffic control and barricades.

The Christmas Tree located at the 5-way stop was decorated by Rhonda Berry. Mayor Berry advised she had done a beautiful job and everyone was very pleased with the appearance of the tree.

Fireworks will be allowed in the city the week before Christmas and ending New Year’s Day. Citizens must cease shooting by 10:00 p.m. each evening except for New Year’s Eve and the shooting must cease at 12:00 a.m. Police will be enforcing the shooting curfew.

Mayor Berry reminded the public that the census is still taking applications for workers. Anyone interested in becoming a census worker please stop by City Hall to pick up applications.

Mayor Mayor advised late Tuesday afternoon, a water line on Kennedy Drive had been cut by a company installing fiber optic lines. The city should have the leak fixed no later than Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
