Wow, Friday was the perfect day for District Attorney Matt Sullivan’s annual cookout. Held at the barn of his parents, the cookout is enjoyed by people from all over Mississippi. Matt is in his first term as district attorney…but he’s been hosting the cookout for several years.
Now, the Sullivan barn is what I call an “uptown” awesome barn! During the year, the barn is filled with equipment but when cookout season comes…..the barn is cleaned out…lights are strung…white tables and table cloths are scattered around the area…fresh flowers in pumpkins are on the tables…the decorations are awesome…and the food…simply delicious from whole hogs…to barbecue chicken…to homemade desserts…and of course sweet tea. No one leaves hungry. Every one of the Sullivan clan and friends “pitch in” to make the lunch unforgettable and enjoyable. No one in the family is too young to work…from taking drink orders to removing plates…everybody works! I do believe this year’s event was the winner in food, decorations, and fun! A “whole lot of” visiting…a little bit of politicking …but mostly everyone enjoys food and fellowship.
